Due to moving house I’ve had to say goodbye to 2 items that have served me greatly over the last 2 years.
Unfortunately, there just isn’t the room to store them anymore.
The first item, my first ever road bike.
A basic Merida Scultura 100, I used to perform my initial couple of triathlons and then allowing me to complete a half ironman triathlon 70.3 at Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.
I decided back in October 2021 to invest in a new and much more high end road bike as it was a sport I see myself doing for years to come, so as they say, out with the old in with the new.
The second item was my first ever surf lifesaving racing mal (paddle board).
After learning surf sports (following gaining of my bronze medallion in November 2020) I knew I needed to get my own racing board, and stop borrowing an old one in the surf club.
Although a couple of years old when I bought it, the board served me well as I thrashed it learning to control and paddle a completely different type of craft to that of a surfboard I grew up using.
Sad to see both items go to people who will use them and enjoy what I did but in a different way.
Yes you form connections to these things but at the end of the day they are merely materialistic and have no emotional response like we as humans do.
Another benefit is the decrease in mental clutter.
Enjoy a couple of happy snaps:
