“Never be afraid to sit a while and think”.

I came across this quote today while having a quick scroll for another quote I had been looking for on https://www.goodreads.com/.
And it really struck a chord with me.
There have been some interesting things going on in my life in the last month or so that have kind of taken me off guard.
Even though these occurrences in life are overwhelming and mentally taxing, they have a distinct reason for eventuating and I am a very firm believer they happen for a reason, but they also provide us with new opportunities.
Any issues or problem we face, any hurdle, can be either viewed as a burden or as an opportunity for growth.
This quote is the pinnacle of how I have been able to weather any storm in the last 12 months.
At our core we are seeking happiness and we only reach happiness once we have peace of mind or peace of the mind.
When we are at peace with the swirling processes through our brain, “thoughts”, then and only then, are we settled.
Whenever I become overwhelmed or mentally fatigued, the best thing I can do is to just sit a while and think.
Simply breathe in and breathe out.
It could be 5 minutes, it could be an hour.
Sometimes you just need to be still and let your thoughts come and go like you’re reading all of the unread emails in your inbox.
Only then will you ever actually realise something about yourself.
Busy is the worst word in the English vocabulary.
Try stop and listen to yourself, maybe then you’ll discover something you’ve always been searching far and wide for.
