#86.0 Struggling to Write

Seth Godin posted an unreal blog post recently (you can find it here: https://seths.blog/2021/09/write-something/)

Are you too struggling to put pen to paper?

Or even fingers to keyboard.

He states there is no such thing as writer’s block and that we should just start.

Regardless of the quality (i.e. good, bad or indifferent) we should aim to produce.

We are continually consuming, none of us are producing.

The fear of your “art” being in the public domain can be excruciating for some, however, by creating and throwing it into the world, you’re getting more comfortable with accepting that nothing is going to happen and that why should you waste any energy on what people think about it.

The people that don’t bring value will continue to do so, while you’re over here in the quiet corner chipping away at contributing valuable “work”.

How do you know you suck at writing if you’ve never actually written?

I can tell you from experience, I much preferred my mathematical and practical subjects in school.

It wasn’t until higher education study at university and of course the adult working life that I realised I needed to learn how to construct informative and intellectual pieces of writing.

To communicate clearly and concisely you need to speak or read the content to allow your audience to consume it.

Without this process, no information would ever have been passed.

Sometimes quantity over quality is required.

Eventually some quality will emerge, when you definitely least expect it.
