“Work nourishes noble minds.” —SENECA, MORAL LETTERS, 31.5
Has become one of my favourite quotes, from the book The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday.
It just reinforces exactly how I feel with the purpose of waking up every morning.
Every morning my alarm goes off, I repeatedly ask myself:
“Why am I doing this?”
You’re doing this because it’s good for you, it is going to progress you, it’s developing your character.
It gives you the slight edge.
That edge could be the difference between life and death (without putting a huge amount of pressure on this statement).
Nourishing work is incredibly rewarding, when you produce something of high quality, you feel overwhelmingly great.
