It bewilders me at how much the average person watches television.
After growing into my young body as a teenager, around the ages of 13, I literally didn’t have time to even think about television.
Getting thrown straight into high school, my most fond memories are not the movies or shows I consumed, but the friendships I made on the footy field, the camping trips I went on with my family and the sheer sense of adventure.
As I’ve matured, I have become more and more aware of the damage this type of addiction can have on the general population.
Unfortunately, it just way too easy to come home from a long days work, put your feet up and binge on your favourite soap.
Why choose that over something else more impactful to the positive side of our lives?
Obviously, sitting down to study, read a book or go for a run are much more avoidable tasks.
It’s just way too easy to draw the recliner back and sit in a relaxed state.
Don’t get me wrong there are moments in life when you need to pull the brakes and do nothing but glue yourself to a great movie.
I just don’t think we realise how little time we actually have.
We have an indescribably short span of time to utilise.
Why use this precious resource for something that provides no leveraged returns?
