#115.0 What I’ve learnt after contracting COVID

Waking up Tuesday morning after an eventful day celebrating the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships, I felt normal.

Well except for the hangover.

As the day progressed though it seemed something was changing.

My general bodily functions deteriorated rapidly into the evening and by 8 pm my head felt like it was going to explode, my nose didn’t stop running and I felt physically weak.

One of the worst nights sleeps then dawned.

By Wednesday morning there was no way I could even get to work let alone perform my duties.

Luckily my housemates had some spare RAT tests and after following those instructions, a clear result appeared almost instantaneously.

Positive.

The rest of Wednesday saw nap after nap and water bottle after water bottle including the thousand odd tissues.

Thursday though then appeared and after an exceptional nights sleep symptoms had almost but parted.

Friday saw the same improvement and everyday after that almost 95% back to normal.

We’ll see how I feel at day 7 when a negative result could see me leave the isolation of this house of mine.

Took a little while but my immune system finally fell victim to this global pandemic that has caused such catastrophe to many many others.

Wishing all those nothing but good health and wellness.
