We all dread having an awkward, unstructured and uncomfortable conversation.
But have you ever had the feeling where, you do have a conversation that gives all the fear in the world through your very spine, and it turns out to be one of the most beneficial outcomes you’ve experienced?
That is where a gem of quote comes in that I heard from Tim Ferriss.
He states:
“A person’s success in life can usually be measured by the number of uncomfortable conversations he or she is willing to have.”
Tim Ferriss
Is this true or false?
From my experience, I can 100% confirm that this is totally and utterly true.
You only have to go and ask a couple of well paid professionals in their established fields the above, and you’ll get a pretty agreeable response.
Hands down.
Unanimously it is.
If you’re willing to be proactive, initiate, and control an uncomfortable conversation, then you are clearly showing your worth and value in that situation and in the world itself.
Whether it’s a personal, career driven or educational setting, you know and can feel it’s tough.
It takes an immense amount of confidence and courage to have the guts to stand up in the arena and expose yourself.
(The arena of course being referred to the battle ground, the workplace, on the sporting field, in your business or a generally uncertain circumstance).
So go out there and jump into the colosseum, and begin an uncomfortable conversation.
You just might realise there isn’t anything to fear at all.
