This morning whilst driving to work, a song came on in a Spotify radio playlist that I hadn’t heard before.
The playlist was the Omnia Radio, a trance artist I’ve listened to for a long time.
It made me think.
The lyrics of the chorus are the following:
“Will we ever be happy where we are?
And will we ever see without comparing scars?
Just breathe, just be
Maybe we will be happy where we are”
My interpretation is that we are always desiring something in the future, something more than what we have already.
Whether that be physical materialistic items, or feelings etc.
The list can literally go on forever.
So then, why can’t we ever be happy with where we currently are in our lives.
After all, we are here in this point in time, doing what we’re doing, surrounded by the people we’re surrounded by due to the decisions we ourselves have made.
No one else got us here, it wasn’t some external factor.
It was us.
Be stoked for right now.
And be happy with where you are.
No need to overthink this, and of course, I’ve definitely over thought this in the past.
The song by Tritonal, can be found in the below link:
