#11.0 Skipping Breakfast? Go here…

Bare Naked Bowls – Newstead, Brisbane

If you read my previous post, you’d definitely understand why I thought I would write about a little place that provides extremely high quality and tasty food (takeaway!)

Don’t forget the coffee as well.

If you didn’t read the workout we did on Sunday, check it out here.

Introduction to the Aftermath

But before I do, a little introduction is essential.

When I normally wake up in the morning, it’s almost an unconscious habit to start preparing myself a healthy breakfast.

Absolutely dead to the world, I am one to sleep deep and heavy, for a long period of time (please don’t ask my partner).

And so, I need the nutrition to replenish what’s been burnt off during the night.

Sunday Morning

Although most mornings are very much like the above description, the morning myself and 2 mates decided to run the Kangaroo Point stairs we were up early and off on our way before I could even blink.

Yep, you guessed it.

We didn’t eat breakfast…

Maybe Not When Training?

There is one exception to skipping breakfast for me.

And that’s to exercise.

Ever since being a young kid, heavily involved in a variety of sports, it was vital that I had a solid “feast” every morning.

“Feast” describes the 12 weet-bix I would have every morning growing up in a massive salad bowl.

The milk we would go through was horrendous.

Moving on however, the days I was training, particularly those sports that incorporated a lot of running (especially sprinting) like rugby, cross country (distance running) and athletics, I would try to avoid a full stomach.

Last Sunday morning was no exclusion.

Following the Workout

Following the workout, we ventured into the heart of Brisbane City and grabbed some breakfast.

Due to the nature of quite an exhausting session, we needed to replace the vital nutrients we had lost, not only during the long night sleep but also the workout.

(They also have a great Instagram which you can find below and they’re also in Sydney)

You’re spoilt with such an array of choice.

After a very thorough inspection, I ended up going with the Paleo Bowl (menu here).

Don’t know what drew me to this particular one, but I can honestly reveal it did have something to do with the following ingredients:

  • Organic acai berry, avocado, raspberries, blueberries and raw coconut to create the blend
  • Raw almonds, organic coconut chips, goji berries, Loving Earth activated caramelised buckinis and raw cacao nibs to make up the topping.

Sounds great, tastes even better.

I also washed that all down with a coffee.

Absolutely delightful.

Finally, what better way than to sit under a tree and enjoy at New Farm Park.

Conclusion

Especially in these trying times amid the COVID-19 pandemic, now has never been a more important time to continue to support local businesses and our communities to ensure we get through this.

Even though only takeaway, we can still all do a little bit to give back.

Get take away and continue to help the economy.

Cheers
