If you want to enjoy and use this sport as a hobby, definitely go for the unique concept of purchasing boards of various shapers and dimensions.
This will allow you develop much more diverse skills in this sport.
And save you some very serious cash along the way.

You’re chasing continuous improvement but purely enjoy the sport of surfing as a hobby, try everything and anything.
The more abstract the better, ride a foam board then go finless, try a 10 foot longboard then go to a 5 foot nugget twin fin.
